This is a more advanced project but uses readily
available birch face plywood and poplar boards. The door are made with a
panel door router blade set. If you don't have that tool, an option
would be to purchase the doors a cabinet shop or online door fabricator.
A table saw is a must but assembly is straight forward with standard
joinery. I used pocket screws to simply assembly.
The key to making this a special project is to use
Blum full extension soft close (Blumotion) drawer slides (or equivalent)
for the top drawers and the bottom pull out storage drawers. This allows
full access to every inch of the storage area of the side board. Most
commercial sideboards that sell for $1000 to $2000 and more do not have
this feature. |
